Eric is the first born son of Norweigian parents who had settled on the island and established a farmstead in the mid 850’s.

Eric originally followed his father working the family farm. But in 902 he joined with Sitric Cáech’s warband after the Viking rulers were forced out of Dublin by a native Irish army.

Eric followed Sitric to Northumbria and fought alongside him to establish rule in the east coast region of the Danelaw.

After taking his share of the looted treasures. It’s here where Eric found some land in Radcliffe in the Hundred of Salford.
